About Me
Step into Monica's World
A Therapist Who Believes in Real People and Real Change
For 17 years, I worked as a Probation and Parole Officer, guiding people through some of the toughest moments of their lives. Taking a leap of faith, I left that world behind to follow my passion for therapy full-time—a decision that changed everything. Now, I help individuals and couples work through challenges, build stronger connections, and create meaningful change in their lives. With certifications in Gottman Level 1, 2, and 3, plus training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, I bring a thoughtful, research-backed approach to couples therapy and individual counseling. Most recently, I became a certified Menopause Coach to help women embrace this major life transition with confidence and support. But beyond the credentials, my focus is simple—I create a space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to grow.
Therapy That Feels Like a True Partnership
I believe therapy should be a collaboration—not a one-sided conversation where I play the “expert” in your life. You bring your experiences, and I bring the tools to help you create meaningful change. No clinical jargon, no complicated theories—just real, down-to-earth conversations that make sense and feel approachable.
I’ve been told I’m a straight shooter, and I own that. I’m direct, but always with respect and care. Honesty is key, especially when it comes to holding you accountable to your goals. If you’re ready to do the work, I’m here to guide, support, and challenge you when needed—because real growth happens when we push through the tough stuff together
A Therapist Who Truly Sees You
I lead with empathy, kindness, and compassion because I believe in the power of human connection. Therapy is serious work, but that doesn’t mean it has to feel heavy all the time. Sometimes, a little humor or a lighthearted moment is exactly what we need to ease into tough conversations and create space for real breakthroughs.
Whether you're navigating relationship challenges or working toward personal growth, my goal is simple: to make sure you feel seen, heard, and supported. You’re not just another case—I genuinely care about your journey and am committed to helping you succeed.
Strength—In and Out of the Therapy Room
When I’m not in the therapy room, you’ll find me at the gym, pushing myself with deadlifts, squats, and bench presses—the heavier, the better. Lifting isn’t just about physical strength; it’s a reminder of resilience, discipline, and showing up for yourself, even when it’s hard. Therapy is no different. Growth takes time, effort, and sometimes a bit of discomfort. But just like in the gym, the work pays off—and I’m here to help you push through and build the life you want.
Supporting You Through Life’s Changes
Whether you're facing relationship challenges, navigating life transitions like menopause, or working toward personal goals, you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to help you take control of your growth, step into your strength, and create the change you deserve. I believe in you—and together, we’ll make it happen.
My Journey Through Perimenopause: From Struggle to Strength
Perimenopause hit me hard. It came out of nowhere, and I felt completely unprepared for the changes happening in my body. The mood swings, the fatigue, the unpredictable cycles – it was over whelming and, frankly, terrifying. There were moments when I felt lost, confused, and unsure of what was happening to me. The lack of support made it even harder. At that time, there seemed to be little guidance available, and I often found myself navigating this challenging phase alone.
But rather than letting the struggle define me, I decided to take control. I turned to self-education, devouring any resources I could find to understand what was going on. Slowly, things began to make sense, and I found myself reaching out to the few supportive people who understood and helped me along the way. With this newfound knowledge and support, I started making changes in my lifestyle, from managing stress to incorporating healthier habits, and the transformation was remarkable. Today, I am thriving. Perimenopause no longer feels like an obstacle but a part of my journey that I’ve learned to embrace. If you’re going through something similar, know that it’s possible to not just survive but truly thrive. You’ve got this!
